The Zero Carbon Building Standard provides a path for both new and existing building to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Buildings representing 17 per cent of emissions nationally – and closer to 30 per cent when embodied carbon from constructions materials is included.
The CaGBC recognizes the challenges related to the application of new technologies and practices to build and retrofit buildings to achieve these targeted reductions in GHG emissions. The Accelerating to Zero Forum will showcase the changes to the Zero Carbon Building Standard and address the challenges and opportunities in education, apprenticeship, and training required for the green building sector in Getting to Zero.
This half-day event will feature the launch of the CaGBC Getting to Zero – Equipping Alberta’s Workforce for the Future Report and provide a showcase of the updates in the CaGBC Zero Carbon Building Standard with speakers and participants from across the spectrum of government, real estate, professional firms and academia.
