Phase 1 of the Non-Profit Energy Efficiency Transition Program launched on January 2017 and was administered by the Action Centre. This program helped Alberta non-profit and volunteer organizations save money through $3 million in grants for energy-efficiency audits. The program garnered high interest with 222 audits completed. This phase of the program closed to new applications in September 2018.
Phase 2 of the program is administered by Energy Efficiency Alberta. Eligible non-profit and volunteer-based organization qualify for basic energy efficiency upgrades. Organizations that completed a detailed energy assessment and energy management plan in Phase 1 of the program were automatically enrolled for the no-charge direct installation of basic energy efficiency upgrades.
