OVERVIEW

As part of the Electric Vehicles for Municipalities program the Village of Rosemary purchased a new fully electric John Deere Gator TE. The Village received a $5,064.40 rebate for the project to help cover the roughly $17,000.00  purchase price.

This project was funded by the Government of Alberta.

APPROACH

The new Gator will be used throughout the Village by the Parks and Public Works Department. Village residences can enjoy the reducing operating noise and GHG emissions.

RESULTS

The new John Deere Gator boasts several benefits for Village staff and residents. The new electric units will have lower maintenance costs, will be quieter to operate and do not emit any GHG emissions during operation. This is a great step forward in the Village of Rosemary becoming a more environmentally friendly community.

“Our parks maintenance staff will be moving around the Village this summer on a quiet, environmentally friendly electric Gator. This new EV product from John Deere is state of the art and will be a benefit to our Village for many years to come. Thanks to the Government of Alberta for supporting climate change initiatives such as this.”
