The Vulcan Curling Club retrofit was completed in 2014, with energy saving upgrades made to the building’s interior lighting and envelope. The lighting retrofit included the conversion of 4-lamp T12 fluorescent tubes to 3-lamp T8s, 2-lamp T12s to T5s, 15W incandescent exit sign lighting to 1.4W LED bulbs, and 60-75W incandescents to 13W CFL and 6W LED bulbs. In addition, weatherstripping and sealing along exterior doors and windows was replaced. The project is expected to achieve annual savings of $3,180, 85 GJ of energy, and 12 tonnes of emissions.
