$14,000MCCAC Funding

As part of the Electric Vehicle for Municipalities Program (EVM) the Municipality of Jasper has purchased a new fully electric Ford E-Transit. The E-Transit will be used throughout the Municipality and has a range of roughly 200 kilometres. The Municipality received a $14,000 grant through the EVM Program to help offset the purchase cost.

This project was funded by the Government of Alberta.

The new E-Transit will facility maintenance to transport tools, materials, and goods through the Municipality. As the van is fully electric it will not produce any greenhouse gas emissions (GHG’s) during operation.

The new E-Transit has several benefits compared to a traditional gasoline powered van:

  1. Lower fuel costs – EVs are more efficient and are therefore cheaper to operate.
  1. Lower maintenance costs – EVs have fewer moving parts and therefore require less maintenance.
  1. More environmentally friendly – EVs do not produce any GHG emission during operation.
  1. Quieter – EVs produce less noise during operation.

The purchase of the E-Transit algins with the Municipalities ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly transportation.

This support has been instrumental in making our vision for a greener Jasper a reality.
