As part of the MCCAC’s Recreation Energy Conservation (REC) program, the City of Leduc completed a large scale lighting retrofit of the Leduc Recreation Centre updating every light fixture in the facility to an LED equivalent. In some spaces, lighting was redesigned to reduce the number of light fixtures required due to increased lighting output and distribution from the new fixtures. The project was completed in June 2020.

“Funding provided by the MCCAC has allowed us to balance our commitment to quality facilities at the LRC with the adoption of sustainable and economically viable practices that not only lower operational costs over the long-term but also lower our carbon footprint.”

Mayor Bob Young
