Greenhouse gas emissions reductions for this project are calculated based on Alberta’s Carbon Offset Emission Factors Handbook Version 2.0

As part of the MCCAC’s Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP), the Town of Canmore installed an 372.4 kW solar PV system at Elevation Place.

The project was completed in 2020.

The system will offset approximately 24 percent of the power usage at Elevation Place. This system reduces the town’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 226 tonnes of CO2e annunally and is an important step towards reducing GHG emissions by 50 percent in 2030.
