Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan

The Plan is intended to assist SVIL in understanding how the climate is projected to change into the future (2080s) and to prioritize climate change adaptation actions to address the most significant potential climate change impacts on important community elements.

Scope

The plan is organized around 4 community element categories: Infrastructure, Buildings, Natural systems and assets, and Community.

Risks

12 key climate change related hazards on 15 unique community elements: Change in average temperature, extreme heat, extreme cold, invasive species, extreme rainfall/pluvial flooding, high lake levels, low lake levels, poor water quality, drought, extreme storm, wildfire, and wildfire smoke.

Actions

49 actions, including 22 high priority actions, across the 4 categories. The plan prioritizes solutions that are practical, affordable, and easy to implement for a small community with limited capacity and resources.
