Summer Village of Ghost Lake Climate Resilient Groundwater Implementation Plan

Following the Climate Resilience and Adaptation Plan (2022), the Climate Resilient Groundwater Implementation Plan provides a hydrological assessment of groundwater systems in the Summer Village of Ghost Lake, and outlines actions to protect the Village’s groundwater resources and ensure a resilient groundwater system in the face of a changing climate.

Scope

The Climate Resilient Groundwater Implementation Plan focuses on actions that both the municipality and individual homeowners can implement, because on-site wells and septic systems on private property are the responsibility of the owner.

Actions

21 actions.

Actions are organized into three categories (Information Gathering, Surface and Groundwater Monitoring, and Community Education), and include recommendations for both the municipality and Summer Village of Ghost Lake community members and homeowners.

Community Engagement

The project was completed through analysis of hydrogeological data, interviews with residents and regional stakeholders, well water surveys, and a community workshop to build awareness.
