OVERVIEW

As part of the MCCAC’s Electric Vehicle Charging Program (EVCP), the Town of Milk River installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the following facilities for public use. These are the additional EV charging stations to be installed in the town.

Public Use

  • One Tritium RTM – 75 kW level 3 station with two plugs at Milk River Swimming Pool
  • Two Siemens VersiCharge – 11.5 kW level 2 stations with one plug each at Milk River Swimming Pool

The project was completed in July 2023.

APPROACH

The Town of Milk River has 1 level 2 EV charging station located at the campground, council wanted to have a second level 2 and level 3 EV charging station located in the downtown area which would increase tourist traffic in the area, and it would also help the town promote the many attractions for tourists to see in the downtown area. The EV charger project would reinforce the community’s commitment to renewables and greenhouse gas reductions.

Milk River is a town in Alberta, Canada that is named after the Milk River which flows immediately to its south. It is 70 kilometres south of Lethbridge, and 16 kilometres from the Canada–United States border. It is primarily a service centre for the many farms and cattle ranches which surround it.

The Council of the Town of Milk River are progressive and are in tune with keeping up with the changing times and the way people are travelling. Installing EV charging stations in our community will provide an opportunity for travellers to stop, re-charge and enjoy what our awesome town has to offer.
