Overview

As part of the MCCAC’s Electric Vehicles for Municipalities (EVM) Program, the Town of Raymond leased 30 Yamaha Golf Carts (Electric) replacing the existing 20 Gasoline carts. The new carts will be enjoyed by community members and visiting golfers as they will spend time at Town Hell’s Creek Golf Course.

This project was completed in December 2022.

Approach

Following the 2020 golf season, The Town saw the need to replace the golf carts at Hell’s Creek Golf Course. The Town went into a 4.5year lease with Oakcreek Golf & Turf for Electric Golf Carts that will support the Town of Raymond in achieving its energy efficiency goals. Featuring smooth acceleration and unrivalled hill-climbing ability the carts offer a reliable, efficient and superior ride to golfers.

Results

These new electric carts will result in a significant reduction in Town’s fuel purchases and will help to reduce the environmental impact by lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and maintenance costs.

“We sincerely appreciate the funding contributed by the MCCAC program to our golf cart lease project. We are excited about the ability to not only reduce costs at our golf course but also to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in the environment.”

Councillor Allen Tollestrup

“We appreciate the $64,566 contribution from the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC). The MCCAC has been an extremely valuable partner in a number of projects over the past several years, including our Net-Zero Solar project and a number of energy efficiency changes we have adopted in our operations.”
