Overview

Through the Community Energy Conservation (CEC) program, the Village of Clyde has received a rebate towards the purchase and installation of 52 LED light fixtures. The new lights were installed in the Clyde Village Office and will reduce electricity consumption, annual cost, and will improve the lighting quality within the building. The Village can expect to save approximately 3,744 kWh of electricity annually.

Approach

The Village approached the MCCAC to complete the project with the intent to replace inefficient and costly existing lights with high efficiency LED fixtures. The improved lighting will make the work environment more comfortable and will save the Village money.

Results

The new LED lights will save the Village approximately $1,000 dollars per year due to their higher efficiency. Additionally, the Village can expect to reduce their annual GHG emissions by around 1.96 tCO2 per year, which equates to 27 tCO2 over the entire lifetime of the new lights.

“What a difference this generously funded upgrade has already made for our village office! We are thankful for the continuing difference it will make in the decades to come, now that we are actively reducing our energy consumption. Thank you!”
