Overview
In 2026, Parkland County completed an LED lighting retrofit at the Acheson Fire Hall through the Community Energy Conservation Program. Supported by an $8,934.80 incentive toward the $32,422 project cost, the project improves lighting performance in an essential emergency-services facility while lowering electricity use.
Approach
Utmost Electric replaced 138 existing LED troffers and T8 fixtures with 128 high-efficiency LED troffers and strip lights. The updated design improves lighting quality and reliability while reducing energy consumption and future maintenance requirements.
Results
The project is expected to save 9,549 kWh of electricity and approximately $1,231.82 each year. Annual greenhouse gas emissions are projected to fall by 4.69 tonnes of CO2e, with 61.39 tonnes avoided over the fixtures’ expected life.
