The Town of Crossfield retrofitted the Crossfield and District Community Center in 2013, focusing on replacing the building’s furnaces. Twelve existing 65% efficiency furnaces were replaced with a single 90% efficiency engineered unit as well as four condensing furnaces at 96% efficiency.
In addition to the furnace retrofit, new weatherstripping and sealing was installed along exterior windows and doors to prevent air loss. Overall, the improvements are expected to save the Town $2,286, 294 GJ, and 15 tonnes of CO2 annually.
