OVERVIEW

As part of the MCCAC’s Electric Vehicle Charging Program (EVCP), the City of Leduc installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the following facilities for public use. These are the additional EV charging stations to be installed in the city.

Public Use

  • Two Flo SmartDC – 50 kW level 3 stations with two plugs each at Leduc Recreation Centre
  • Two Flo SmartTWO – 7.2 kW level 2 station with two plugs each at Leduc Recreation Centre

The project was completed in July 2023.

APPROACH

As part of the City’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and greenhouse gases, it continues to find avenues to help the environment. The four new EV charging stations are located at the Leduc Recreation Centre (LRC) and have two level 2 and two level 3 chargers. With the addition of the new charging stations, it brings the total number of City-owned EV charging stations to ten. The EV chargers will draw power from the LRC’s rooftop solar panels and provide residents and visitors access to charge their vehicles while they meet, exercise, or watch and participate in sporting activities.

We’re excited to be able to provide our residents and visitors with more options to charge their electric vehicle while they’re visiting the Leduc Recreation Centre. The data we’ve collected shows us that there is a great demand for EV charging in Leduc, and we’re constantly looking at how we can provide this service for our residents.
