OVERVIEW
As part of the Electric Vehicles for Municipalities program the City of Lethbridge has purchased a Ford E-Transit cargo van. The City received $14,000 through the EVM program to help offset the purchase cost.
This project was funded by the Government of Alberta.
APPROACH
The new all electric van will be used by Galt Museum& Archives and Fort Whoop-Up to reduce other vehicles usage and hauling materials and doing pick-ups through the City.
RESULTS
The new E-Transit will help reduce annual fuel and maintenance costs and will also reduce GHG emission compared to a traditional gasoline powered van. The addition of this van to the City’s fleet is another step forward in reducing GHG emissions and being more environmentally conscious.
We are very pleased to be taking another step forward in environmental sustainability. By adding this vehicle to the Galt and the Firt, we are fulfilling a value of our new strategic plan as we continually work toward sustainability and holistacally consider our practices from cultural, health, financial, environmental and social perspectives
Darrin Martens, CEO/Executive Director of the Galt Museum and Fort Whoop-UpOn behalf of Lethbridge City Council, I am thrilled to see this new EV for the Galt Museum and Archives and Fort Whoop-Up. As we continue to work towards sustainable future energy use, this is another great initiative in supporting the transition to low-emission vehicles in Lethbridge
