As part of the MCCAC’s Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP), the Town of Nanton installed an 50.4 kW solar PV system at the Tom Hornecker Recreation Centre. The project was completed in 2020.

The Town of Nanton is very excited to see the completion of the solar array project –the Municipal Climate Change Action Center has been very helpful in all aspects of the project and the program ally (Sustainable Projects Group) has been very accommodating and supportive, making sure the project was completed in a timely fashion and all details were looked after. We are excited to see the benefits of the project and excited to be able to have a more energy efficient building going forward that will benefit the users of the Tom Hornecker Recreation Center for years to come.”
