OVERVIEW

As part of the Electric Vehicles for Municipalities program the Town of Slave Lake purchased a new fully electric Subaru Solterra. The MCCAC provided a $14,000 rebate to help the municipality purchase the new vehicle.

This project was funded by the Government of Alberta.

APPROACH

The new Solterra will be used within the Town’s fleet, this will be the first fully electric vehicle used by the Town.

RESULTS

The new Solterra will help the Town save money by having lower annual operating costs and maintenance costs. The all electric Solterra will also reduce the Town’s annual GHG emission, and will help create a greener community.

This a great step forward by the Town to promote sustainability and a greener future.

The Town of Slave Lake is glad to receive funding from the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) to support the purchase of an electric [fleet] vehicle. This would be the first electric vehicle in our fleet and our goal would be to reduce GHG emissions within our community while focusing on being very economical in usage.
