Zero Emission Transit Fund
Through the Zero Emission Transit Fund, the Government of Canada is investing $2.75 billion over five years, starting in 2021, to support public transit and school bus operators plan for electrification, support the purchase of 5,000 zero emission buses and build supporting infrastructure, including charging infrastructure and facility upgrades.

TD Friends of the Environment Foundation Grant
Supports the protection of the environment and green communities with a primary focus on environmental education and the development of green space. The focus of the grants vary slightly each year.

Building Retrofits Initiative (CIB)
Provides financing for decarbonization retrofits in privately-owned commercial, industrial and multi-unit residential buildings in Canada. Building owners can apply for financing to retrofit one or more of their buildings, provided that the total investment exceeds $25M.

Energy efficiency financing programs for low-rise residential properties. Supports feasibility studies, pilot and capital projects.

Community Buildings Retrofit Initiative (GMF)
Offers support at all stages of project development, helping communities of all sizes to significantly reduce GHG emissions while extending assets’ life. GMF‐supported initiatives aim to improve air, water, and soil, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

FortisAlberta Community Grants
Funding is provided to enhance or create a green initiative in your community. Some examples of past projects include planting trees and shrubs in park areas, community gardens, install recycle bins, and downtown beautification projects.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities offers grants for municipal environmental projects. Loans are also available to municipalities at competitive rates, and most recipients receive an additional grant of up to 15 percent of their loan amount.

Canada Community-Building Fund
The Federal Gas Tax Fund helps communities to build and revitalize public infrastructure that supports national objectives of productivity and economic growth, a clean environment, and strong communities.

Co-op Community Spaces Funding Program
Access between $25,000 and $150,000 to improve community health and wellbeing by building places for Western Canadians to come together and build social connections.
