The Community Facility Enhancement Program aims to foster healthy, vibrant communities across Alberta. The program has been designed to support the efforts of organizations that contribute to their communities and to create opportunities for Albertans to engage with their communities. The program responds to local facility enhancement needs and works in partnership with eligible nonprofit organizations to assist communities with acquisition, construction, upgrade, or redevelopment of public-use community facilities.

Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program
Up to $964 million over four years is available for smart renewable energy and grid modernization projects. Provides direct financial support to eligible renewable energy and grid modernization projects during the construction phase. Projects must use market ready technologies and apply workplace equity, diversity, and inclusion components.

To help reduce the barriers of making the switch away from fossil fuel-based transportation, this program provides funding and incentives, as well as testing and research on automated and connected vehicles and zero-emission vehicles.

FortisAlberta Community Grants
Funding is provided to enhance or create a green initiative in your community. Some examples of past projects include planting trees and shrubs in park areas, community gardens, install recycle bins, and downtown beautification projects.

Federation of Canadian Municipalities
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities offers grants for municipal environmental projects. Loans are also available to municipalities at competitive rates, and most recipients receive an additional grant of up to 15 percent of their loan amount.
