As part of the MCCAC’s Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP), the City of Calgary installed a 107.67 kW solar PV system on the roof of TELUS Spark. The project was completed in March 2018.

As part of the MCCAC’s Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP), the Belgravia Community League in Edmonton installed a 14.85 kW solar PV system on the roof of the Belgravia Community League Hall. The project was completed in 2017.

As part of the MCCAC’s Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP), the City of Medicine Hat installed a 4.5 kW solar PV system on the roof of the Medicine Hat Public Library. The project was completed in October 2016.

As part of the MCCAC’s Alberta Municipal Solar Program (AMSP), the Queen Alexandra Community League in Edmonton installed a 7.8 kW solar PV system on the roof of the Queen Alexandra Community League Hall. The project was completed in August 2017.

Community Leagues across the City of Edmonton are tapping into the power of the sun and green energy savings. Six leagues completed building retrofits and installed solar PV arrays to meet their energy needs. The projects are expected to yield cost savings of $8,891/year and GHG reductions of 55 tonnes/year.

City of Red Deer
Red Deer conducted a multi-facility retrofit in 2014, which included five community recreation centres and arenas. With annual cost savings expected to be $54,098, the project will pay itself back in only 3 years. The retrofit will also save the City 2,482 GJ of energy and 279 tonnes of greenhouse gases annually.
